NEF supported the installation of a 132 kWp solar system at Karat Hospital, enabling around 270,000 additional treatments over 20 years and supporting a catchment of 700,000 people.

In 2023, NEF supported Power to Refugees & Displaced People, funding refugee led clean energy enterprises through seed grants, scaling support and policy advocacy.
AVSI
Building on NEF’s biogas support in Kenya in 2025, the BRIGHT project will provide 475 solar home systems, expanding energy access in Sierra Leone.
Banco dell’Energia
In 2021, NEF supported energy-poverty relief in Milan, Italy, and co-funded in 2024 an 83.6 kWp community solar system in Baranzate, supplying clean energy to up to 80 households.
Barefoot College International
NEF is supporting Barefoot College’s Solar Mamas programme in Zanzibar, empowering women through solar engineering and bringing clean energy to 50 households.
COREDA
Between 2023 and 2025, NEF installed solar systems for two schools, Tiko Hospital and 120 households in Cameroon, improving healthcare, education and energy access.
Dream Renewables
NEF backed clean-energy training (2021), solar irrigation pilots (2023), solarisation of five clinics (2025) and shared solar irrigation for 30 farms (2026) in Ghana.
