Building on NEF’s biogas support in Kenya in 2025, the BRIGHT project will provide 475 solar home systems, expanding energy access in Sierra Leone.

In 2021, NEF supported energy-poverty relief in Milan, Italy, and co-funded in 2024 an 83.6 kWp community solar system in Baranzate, supplying clean energy to up to 80 households.
Barefoot College International
NEF is supporting Barefoot College’s Solar Mamas programme in Zanzibar, empowering women through solar engineering and bringing clean energy to 50 households.
COREDA
Between 2023 and 2025, NEF installed solar systems for two schools, Tiko Hospital and 120 households in Cameroon, improving healthcare, education and energy access.
Dream Renewables
NEF backed clean-energy training (2021), solar irrigation pilots (2023), solarisation of five clinics (2025) and shared solar irrigation for 30 farms (2026) in Ghana.
Ecoclub
Funding rooftop PV systems: 158 kWp in Khotyn (fully operational) and 143 kWp in Chornomorsk, improving hospital resilience and reducing CO₂.
EcoSwell
In 2024, NEF funded the installation of a 14.64 kWp solar UPS system at Suyo Medical Centre, securing refrigeration and essential services for 14,000+ residents.
EducAid
Building on NEF’s support for three school solar installations in 2025 and two education facilities plus a climate workshop in 2026, Green Minds promotes climate awareness among students.
