SolarAid – One Year Light a Village Programme Update

NextEnergy Foundation is proud to share SolarAid updates on Light a Village Programme which aims to provide portable Solar Home Systems (SHSs) to Kasakula rural community in Central Malawi.

Thanks to NEF’s support, a total of 184 SHSs have been installed, giving 875 people access to clean, safe and affordable lighting. Now, 160 children can study under safe clean light.

The Light a Village Programme won the top prize in the International Aid & Development category at the Charity Awards of the Civil Society Media (London) and the Malawian Ministry of Energy is in discussions to scale-up the programme.
