Mwezi Foundation’s Solar Lights Project Enhances Education in Rural Kenya
The Mwezi Foundation has launched a project to improve educational outcomes for students in rural schools across Kilifi and Kwale counties in Kenya by distributing solar-powered lights. The project, supported by NEF, initiated in January 2024, and the distributing of lights was completed in January 2025.
The project aims to evaluate whether distributing individual lights to one student leads to better educational outcomes than sharing lights and to assess broader social benefits, including improvements in family finances and overall health.
