Ashden – Updates on Supported Projects

In March 2024, the Ashden CEO and International Programme members visited Kakuma to witness the progress of the three projects NEF is supporting:

  • Kakuma Ventures: Expanded internet access with 25 primary and 65 secondary nodes, distributed 25 solar kits, and trained 164 individuals in digital literacy.
  • Solar Freeze: Deployed 10 solar-powered cold storage units, supporting over 120 households, and trained 10 women as technicians.
  • Usafi Green Energy: Implemented community micro-grids, enhancing energy access and sustainability.
